"Actually Deano, from well 46 north was probably as badly corrugated as the worst of the rest down south so plain but slow sailing. I pumped the tyres up leaving Breadon Hills and then had to let them down again because of the corrugations."

Perhaps I (unintentionally) gilded the Lilly a tad. :) I was a bit concerned about your 'may have to turn back comment' and wanted to let you know it wasn't really all that bad from Well 46 on. Even so it just goes to show how much conditions can change over a couple of years. Kaye and I'll just have to go back to 'refresh' our memory banks.:D

Congratulations on a great adventure successfully negotiated. Next time I'll remove the mirrors and get one of those rear view camera thingys. The photos and commentary were excellent.

Don't know about staying at Wolf Creek crater for a couple of nights (nothing to do with the movie) but the Bungles are fantastic. If you can try and avoid going in in the late afternoon. As caravans are not permitted (or they weren't when we were last there) it is common to get visitors who leave their vans at Turkey Creek and shoot in for the day, zoom, zoom all day and drive out late afternoon. Driver fatigue and driving into the setting sun is not a good combination , especially if you're coming the other way.

Looking forward to 'The Next Exciting Installment'.

Great photos Tony,we just missed each other as I returnrd from my second trip to Halls Creek last Friday, road in to the Bungles is well corrufated as well, one place that I recommend from the Gibb river road is the old Brooking sprins station, now called Charnley river station........God's own country!!!!!

Cheers,Joe

Correction, just got the names mixed Charnley river station is the new name for Bevrly Springs not Brooking springs, thanks to David Gray for pointing the mistake out.

Cheers,Joe

"'may have to turn back comment' "

ah, I thought it was obvious that I was just kidding - having a dig at those who talked of having trouble getting up certain dunes when I had trouble on none.

Wolfe Creek is hardly the most exciting camping ground but as long as the whole rig isn't vibrating up and down constantly, I'm happy to stay anywhere.

Went in to the Bungles 4 years ago in the Suzuki but just for the day, so this time we will camp in there for a couple of nights and get a bit of exercise.

Thanks Joe - we'll find it - whatever it is called
