Hi, I have a 16,800LB electric winch, I purchased it On EBay, it’s a cheap China import but has been good so far. The winch is fitted with 20mm Dyneema rope. I paid $ 497.00 for it landed in Townsville, I purchased an OKA Winch Kit from OKA parts to save the effort of designing a mounting plate(winch kit was about $ 400.00 landed). I have relocated the winch control and placed it on the bull bar, the wireless control has been discarded. I have also replaced the starter contactor with a real heavy duty contactor that cost $120.00, also upgraded the power cables from 25 sq. mm to 35 sq. mm. I have one more trip north in September after that I’ll remove it and dismantle to check to see if it will survive another year.
Regards, Chris.

Don't know about an Oka but on Toyotas and Nissans the steering goes west when the winch is in use as the pump can't run both.

I looked into it, the Vickers on the Perk is 2-4 Gpm flowrate and about 750psi... Just not up to scratch! I'm getting a pto for the transmission and running a hydraulic setup through an old army Braden MU2 PTO winch they used on the power wagons. It's rated at 8000lb but with the standard linespeed i can just run a pulley and it will effectively be 16000lb at the same linespeed as most current electric winches. Yet to set it up but on it's previous application i've seen it pull much bigger weights than the rated 8000lb though anyway!
