Hello, I have recently brought a OKA so I am new to the OKA community and would like to talk with people who have done a duramax engine swap in there OKA.
If anyone is able to give me some advice have a chat about or a vehicle to look at I would really appreciate it.
Justin

Where are you based Justin? I believe there are a few, one or more of the duramax guys may be nearby... most have gone the cummins 6bt route if doing an engine swap...

I'm at Dungog and Ralley is at Taree, we've both done 6bt's and 6 speed Allison's. The only Duramax I've seen is in Melbourne.
Do you have an engine and gearbox? there is a place in Qld that does duramax and Allison's into Patrol's and 200 series that can be a source of drivetrains. I've used his Allison to Patrol adapter for the transfer case.

Cummins 6BT, Allison 6 speed auto, Nissan transfer.

Hi,

I'm involved with Oka #260 which had an engine swap in late 2012 to a 6.6L turbo Duramax with an Allison 1000 6 speed auto. The Oka is now unbelievably quick, Hal had it 0-100 in 8.34s and uses about 23l/100k with a small load and not much headwind. Happy to chat through some of the details if you need.

Angus

wow! I'd be surprised if those fuel figures were correct. I've had the perk down to 12L/100 at one stage but with the muddies around 15. Most report of getting around 16L/100 with the 6bt... I would have thought the electronically controlled Duramax would be closer to that than above 20 odd...?
