OKA # ? at blowholes in Sunday Times

In Yesterday's Sunday Times(WA) was an article about camping facilities at the blowholes. I didn't read the article (was too busy) but I think it must have been North of Carnarvon. What got my attention was a couple of cars/vans and the one in the foreground was an OKA. It had a raised roof. Anyone's on this forum?

It looks like we may have missed out on getting a copy of that Sunday Times article.

I was watching TV news through the week and was surprised to see a segment that involved a response by WA's State Emergency Service - and there was an OKA! I had known that they used to own one - the photo below had appeared on the web years ago, in the Wikipedia article on the OKA 4WD - but I had assumed it had since fallen out of service. Not so. Good to see.



Also in this morning's West Australian newspaper, in an advertising page for various Gibb River Road tours, is the OKA of Sacred Earth Safaris, based in Darwin. The photo in the paper has a different driving light setup to the one on their website, so may not be the same vehicle, but it's another one (at least) that isn't on this site, and is still out there doing its job.

Len/Rina/Hal, going through the rubbish bins of an hospital...., no, not quite the bins, but I found a paper copy of the Sunday Times, will scan it later and post. Have been busy with work and other important things, like sailing this afternoon. Have to run, otherwise I miss the boat.
