My windscreen wiper system is wearing out. Both knurls are broken.
I would like to try to get the Oka NT system in Europe.
Does anybody know which brand and type of wiper system is used in an Oka NT?

Dean may not be able to help you. He does not have the rights, drawings etc to the NT.

The NT uses a different setup, the wiper motor is inside an enclosure in the middle of the cab under the windscreen. It wont fit a XT, Alan at OKA and I tried. LT might be different.

It is a better system than XT or LT. It wipes from the middle out.

I would love to do the modification myself, however you need to find a NT and see if you can copy what has been done.

I think the wiper spindles were made by Tridon but they haven't made any for many years, Ian Jones did have some a few years ago but he did say that stocks were very low.
One of mine had got very wobbly so I pulled it out and had the brass machined out so it was back to a true bore and had a tubular bush made to take up the slack.
Any machine shop should be able to machine new brass outer spindles as that is what wears the steel spindles don't wear much if at all.

Gutten Tag Klaus,

I have the same issue, and have exposed the mechanism.
I need to pull out the semi-seized shafts and generally fix it, so I will note what parts work together... possible this weekend.
But it does not rain here much, so it is not as critical as AC :S

Looking at stuff on here about 12-14 pages in.

Hi Holmz and Klaus,
If oka spares dont have then I believe Flexidrive supplied the parts and they have branches all over Aus so maybe one of them may have what you want.

can't help with the NT solution but xt/lt parts previously discussed here

I replaced all wiper parts (1,500,000 kms with many of them up at Kosciusko in winter means lots of wipes!) and I also added the third wiper for the passenger.
I found all required parts in the attached Trico catalogue.
The flat blades do not work so well even though the OKA screen is flat (and they are hard to get) so I also cut off the ends of the wiper arms and welded on standard hook-slot ends instead so as to allow standard spring loaded multiframe type blades with refills that you can get anywhere. They wipe better and don't judder like the flat blades

I thought Paul or Ian did the third wiper.
A parts list would be nice.

Klaus,

I spoke with Robin at Truvision.com.au
Here is sending me an email later, so I will know the exact cost ($65/ each or a Pair...)
I'll likely get new arms as well...

Robin said, " get a grinder and remove the pin from the bar. It is spin riveted in.
Put in the new pin and tack weld it to the bar."

Might need a drill and punch.

You could either order it direct... or I can order 4 and then send you a pair of the pin assemblies.and you PayPal the cost+AusPost to Germany.

Robin said that they did all the OKAs and can supply everything. ;)

Here is what the fine gentleman emailed back:

Hi R,
As discussed if you can remove the pivot shaft off your old pivot and replace with these new ones
Every thing will work as new.
P/N TC126-61 75mm shaft pivot $52.74 +GST each
P/N TC380 Adjustable wiper arm to suit $27.13 +GST each
Ex stock our Brisbane warehouse
Kind regards

Holmz,

thank you for your kind offer.

Last week I found an automotive repair shop which will take care of some issues of my Oka.
The owner modifies and configurates fire-fighting vehicles since more than 30 years.
He has tremendous sources of suppliers to find parts also for uncommon motor vehicles.

Middle of April he can start with my Oka, so hopefully my wiper issue will be solved too.

I always try to source necessary parts here in Europe, less hassle than ordering from Australia.

But without this community, it would be much harder, if not impossible to keep the Oka running.
I really appreciate the members help, ideas and modifications.
Klaus
