Hi all,

I am on a fact finding mission.

Given that the XT A/C system is based on a VL Commodore and that is what the condesor is from. Does the XT have the old gas? If so what are people doing to upgrade it to the new gas?

The LT is different and used the Holden Rodeo system I think?

Cheers

Mine had the HR12 Superchill in it. Supposedly
compatible with the original.

Apparently popular in WAnbut not so easy to find in NSW

Hi from your fridgy, Hydrocarbon refrigerant is light years ahead of any of the synthetic gas products. You only need to change the fiter/reciever drier and give the system 12 hrs on the vaccuum pump to remove all the non condensables and moisture from the system(most important) otherwise the water vaour in the system will hydrolise under temp and pressure and turn to hydrchloric acid and start eating away your much prized asset with the end result being a new system entirely after a digital vacuum gauge shows 200 microns of vacuum and after holding to less than 500 microns for 1 hr on astatic system then your ready to charge 150 grams of refrigerant through the dicharge access service valve and then close the disharge valve and finish off charging through the suction service valve and you should be operating with head pressures of 225 psi (1575 KPA ) AND 30 psig (210 kpa) SUCTION PRESSURE WITH A FULL SIGHT GLASS IN THE RECIEVER/DRYER. The hydrocarbon evaporates at 7 degrees C colder than synthetic refrigerants at the same pressures, so in laymans lauguage its bloody bootifull and totally system friendly with all types of oils, hose and oring materials. It also evaporates 10x faster than synthetics which equates to coooool air into the cab very quickly after start up cause its removing the sensible heat 10 times quicker (its sensible cause you can feel temp change) sensible heat changes the temperature of a substance and latent heat changes its state, IE water to ice or liquid to a gas. My mobile is 0409492108 please feel free to to call any time if requiring assistance etc to more info or materials, top health to all , Doc

The hydrocarbon is 1/3 the price of synthetics and we charge around $70 plus labour of $280 all plus GST Drier is about $15. Happy travels, heaps of fresh fish and a couple of reds
