I think it was Tony Lee who mentioned diodes, Schottky diode. This type has only half the voltage drop compared with other ones: about 0.35 Volt instead of the common 0.7 Volt. The advantage of that is obvious, ie in line with (each of the multiple)solarpanels, when these have not built in diodes themselves: meaning more voltage available to charge batteries.
A while ago I found a higher capacity: the MBR20100CT from Jaycar. Actually this is two 10 Amp diodes in one housing, parallel good for 20amp.

Need to have them well heatsinked to get full rating. Jaycar also sell stick-on heatsinks. I use them to keep the engine batteries charged from the solar system charging the house batteries when the vehicle is laid up for many months at a time.
