Dana Gross Axle Weight Ratings (GAWR)
I have been doing a bit of research on the GAWR of the Dana Axles fitted to Okas.
This relates to my post here >> www.oka4wd.com/apps/forums/topics/show/6...stions-from-a-newbee about the increased GVM/GCM of my OKA (6600 / 8400 kg), without any apparent mechanical modifications, and until today I have come up blank.
Dana Spicer have come to the rescue with the release of data sheets for their axles due to the upcoming availability of their axles for sale directly to small OEMs and maybe you and me.
Product release blurb here >> www.crateaxle.com/sites/default/files/cr...release_103111_0.pdf
On their spec sheet here >> www.crateaxle.com/sites/default/files/crate_axle_sheet.pdf They give the ratings on their axles as follows: (conversion to kg by me)
Dana 60 front -3340kg
Dana 70 rear -3900kg
Total 7240 kg
I realize that this is new data that may have superseded the data for Okas made in the 90's, but it's well above the 6600kg on my compliance plate and also the GVM on yours. Pete
