Is it a 'wet finger in the air' principle? 297's only done 15k klm on the new filter - and the majority of that on sealed roads.
I have a spare that I intend fitting in July after we pop out of the top end of the Canning.

I have a vacuum gauge on the air filter that shows flow resistance.
There is probably a maximum air cleaner vacuum spec for the 6BT.
