Dave Blythe created the topic: NP205 / Allison 4WD/Range indicator
Nothing urgent but while I'm lanquishing by the pool here in Penang I'm planning a few farkles for when I return...
#297 has an Allison/NP205 rather than the original stuff and so has no idiot lights for Hi/Lo/2/4WD and I'm thinking if and how this can be implemented.?
The transfer lever only moves a couple of mm between settings and I'm not inclined to try and make some microswitch(es) and mounts to track that. And anyways the area adjacent and under the shift lever is busy with other stuff.
I know the NP has some form of switch output (mine has a blanking plug I believe) but what does that switch signal?
Any knowledge from the brains here please?
Another beer sir? Certainly!

That switch Dave is an on/off switch that closes when the shift rod for 4wd moves and pushes the switch contact. You could certainly use the switch and adaptor into that blanking plug and wire it up to the loom that the micro switch is fitted to. Paul Nott has the adaptor and switch in stock.
Cheers, Dane

Thanks Dane - so it's a purely a 4WD on-off indicator and not a full blown every possible selector position switch.
Got it
