According to our listings, Oka #412 is owned by Seamus and Cate who are current OOG members (last post April 2013).
The last I heard, they were resident in or around Portland Roads on Cape York and running tours up there (the photo backgrounds look familiar).
I sold my roof racks to Seamus and Cate and they look familiar too.

This OKA is owned by Seamus Campbell and is located near Lockhart River Cape York. He is in the process of shedding it and starting work on it. It is an ex tour vehicle from WA.
So it won't be going back to nature but being rejuvenated. Saw it myself a few weeks ago.
Cheers

Given that it is X Safari Trek, its no wonder it has a little rust. They use to do daily runs up to Lancelin and Cervantes, with a good run along the beach etc.
In another life, I use to work for a company called Travelabout. They did the same run. I drove for them part time in the mid 90`s. Long day Perth up to Cataby via Yanchep NP, Cataby for morning tea, then onto Cervantes for lunch, through the Pinnacles and down to Lancelin back into Perth around 7 or so.

Old 412, that brings back memories! I drove for Safari Treks for many thousands of kms., thru the Kimberly, on the Canning Stock Route, Mt Augustus and many trips to the Pinnacles as Outback Jack describes. In ten years working for Safari Treks I went to the Pinnacles 1000+ times in all their vehicles ranging from a six wheel drive landcruiser, to a troopy, to all their Okas in the 1990's

We must have crossed paths then. I lost count on how many trips to the Pinnacles etc I did. I remember having to drive in the surf between Cervantes and Lancelin.
I worked between three jobs in those days, Travelabout and Once in a Lifetime was the tourist companies I worked for at the same time.
Drove many different types of vehicles inlcuding 8 tonne 4x4 Isuzus etc etc. It was pretty full on in those days, Heaps of different companies was doing the daily runs through the Pinnacles.
Not sure how many are doing it now days.
Maybe 412 got so bad after life with Safari Trek

That is the one and yes it is in Portland Roads. Glad to hear that it wouldn't be going back to nature as they are a neat vehicle.
