Cheers Steve and Sal
OKA58 created the topic: Hi all
Hello to everyone from newbies Sal and Steve. We live in Karratha WA and brought Oka58 in August this year. We spent the first 2 months repairing mechanical faults and electrical faults. We also started the task of making 58 into a motor home and finally got 58 registered. The old girl is a bit rough around the edges but it is now able to be used with our first major trip to Marble bar for a week of prospecting in October. We want to do a few mods to 58 and there are some great ideas and advise on this site. After reading a few threads people have written it was great to see a friendly group of people willing to share information and experiences. We haven't seen any Oka's up this way in the past but I believe there is two others in town. We did pass one in Marble Bar as we were leaving town to head back out bush. we love our camping and 4wheel driving but we are taking it easy on 58 till we know the Oka's limitations. We are impressed so far. I will post some photo's soon once I have learned to navigate around the site.
Cheers for now Sal and Steve.

Steve and Sal, welcome to the Oka Owners website.
Many Oka owners have gone (or are still going) down the same path that you have embarked on (including me) so most of the issues you'll come across will probably have been answered before.
If you can't find the topic you need from the forum search function or from the technical section, post a question here. You probably won't have to wait long for a response.
Add feel free to post photos and details of what you are doing with Oka 058.
If you have any website issues, please contact any of the 3 admins, Hal, James or me, via the forum or message system.
Regards, David

Welcome Steve and Sal.
As a fairly new OKA owner myself I can agree with David's comments about how much information is on this site.
I look forward to seeing how you fit 058 out as it was one of the OKA's I considered back in February
058 at Robin's earlier this year.

Sal and Steve, I've added your details to our
"Where the Okas are"
listing.
You'll find there are over 60 Okas located in WA and at least one other in Karratha (James 072), so you won't be that far from another one.
On our annual outback treks we usually see 3 or 4 other Okas and they never fail to be interesting meetings. Keep an eye open also for Oka gatherings which happen a couple of times a year when several Oka's get together for a weekend BBQ, with beer, tech talk and the chance to put faces to names.

Hi Tony,
Thanks for the pic, the old girl has come a long way from that picture already. Mainly due to the fact that we only had 2 months to get her up to running and camping stage - We will post an album of her transition. Still have a way to go. Thinking of cutting out the roof and putting in a pop top or hard top not sure which way to go yet. Things are on hold as our temp is in the low 40s now.
